I am a keen photographer with a particular interest in birds. Please see below for some of my recent projects.
UK species are captured on Canon EOS D500 with a Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 Contemporary DG OS HSM Lens, whilst those taken abroad are generally shot on a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX99 Digital Camera.
British Birds
The behaviours and life histories of British birds are incredible, though sadly often overlooked in favour of more charismatic species. This project aims to celebrate the beauty of the “ordinary”.

Seabirds
As I live on one of the UK’s most important islands for seabirds, I naturally have a real attachment to our ocean birds. Their grace and beauty in the face of the full force of the ocean is awesome and I try to capture this in my shots (project ongoing).

South America
A recent birding and photography trip in early 2024 presented a different challenge – with not much room for bulky kit, I wanted to celebrate the beauty of the wildlife I was seeing, not with long lenses and dSLRs, but on a digital camera – this time the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX99.

Swans
During lockdown, I was stuck at home. My only respite was the river over the road, where I began to follow a family of Mute Swans throughout the summer. These images represent many hours of watching, following and filming – and also the retreat they gave me.
